Frequently asked questions

  • What services do you provide for the deaf community?

We offer a range of services to support the deaf and hard-of-hearing community, including:

    • British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation services
    • Deaf awareness training for businesses and organisations
    • Access to communication support for appointments, meetings, and events
    • Technology and equipment for communication support (e.g., videophones, hearing loops)
    • Advocacy services to assist with legal, employment, and social matters
  • How can I book a BSL interpreter?

You can book a British Sign Language interpreter by visiting our booking page or by calling our dedicated helpline. For urgent requests, we also offer same-day interpreter services based on availability. We recommend booking as early as possible to ensure availability.

  • Do you provide services for people who are hard of hearing, or only for those who are profoundly deaf?

Our services are available for both individuals who are hard of hearing and those who are profoundly deaf. We aim to meet the needs of the entire deaf and hard-of-hearing community, regardless of the level of hearing loss.

  • Can I access your services if I don’t use British Sign Language?

Yes! While BSL is a key service we offer, we also provide services for people who rely on lip reading, speech-to-text services, or other communication methods. Please let us know your preferred method of communication when making a booking, and we’ll tailor our support accordingly.
